My first college all-nighter

… was spent shifting bees in the Australian Outback. We left last night around 9:00 pm and loaded up two semis. Worked until 12:30 a.m., napped until 3:30, and then drove the trucks out to the new bee site. Finished as the sun was rising, and the bees came in happy this morning. By 7:00, they were flying in with feet fulls of pale mallee pollen. Misleading picture because although I have had several forklift lessons, shifting beehives is a big league maneuvre. Last night I worked the smoker. John helped me tape my pants to my shoes, but several bees found their way inside my suit anyway.
