After two months in the Outback, bush, and beekeeping, arriving in Bangkok was a bit of a sensory overload. I still can’t make sense of the size of this city. I get the feeling that it’s as big as Colorado with a population exceeding that of the whole world. I know that it’s impossible, but this is the feeling I get.
Monks everywhere. Women are supposed to keep a respectful distance from monks. Like jump into the gutter to avoid an awkward encounter. I am Frogger; monks are cars. This is lots of fun.
The monks are not supposed to make physical contact with women, so, for example if you want to give a monk a candy bar, you have to set it down before they can pick it up. I don’t think they’re supposed to have candy bars either.
